When I first decided to live more sustainably, I was... overwhelmed.
There was just so much information. So many rules. So many people saying “this is right” and “this is wrong.” I wanted to do everything at once: compost, zero waste, veganism, slow fashion, DIY cleaning, plastic-free, carbon footprint calculators… it felt endless.
I jumped in with full energy — changing my routine, replacing products, watching dozens of YouTube videos, reading blogs, trying to follow every trend.
But instead of feeling empowered, I ended up feeling... exhausted.
There were days I’d just freeze in the store aisle, reading labels, Googling brands, unsure of what was “eco enough.”
There were nights I lay in bed feeling guilty because I used a plastic wrapper or forgot to recycle something.
And the biggest mistake I made?
Trying to do everything. All at once. Perfectly.
I thought I had to be the “ideal eco-person” from the very beginning — that if I wasn’t doing it all, I was doing nothing.
But that mindset burned me out.
Eventually, I paused.
I asked myself: What if I just start with one thing? What if I allow myself to learn slowly?
That’s when things began to shift.
I started with simple steps — like carrying my own bag, or saying no to free stuff I didn’t need. I focused less on being perfect and more on being consistent.
And you know what?
I found joy again.
Sustainability stopped being a burden and started feeling like a lifestyle that matched my values — not a checklist to impress others.
That’s why I started EcoShift — to create a space where people can breathe. Where you can take small steps without shame. Where your curiosity matters more than your perfection.
If you're feeling overwhelmed or confused right now — I see you.
Start with what feels manageable. One step is enough.
Let it be light. Let it be yours.
Let it be a shift, not a struggle.
